Background
John Woodlee specializes in civil and complex commercial litigation and has been with the Bedell Firm since 2012, after spending a year as judicial law clerk for the Honorable Gerald B. Tjoflat, circuit judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. John has handled a number of high-profile cases, including disputes involving real estate developers and contractors, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, and general civil litigation cases.
John graduated summa cum laude from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English and magna cum laude from Duke University School of Law, where he served as an Articles Editor of the Duke Law Journal and was a member of the Order of the Coif. During his time with the Bedell Law Firm, John has quickly developed a reputation for his ability to tease out critical nuances from complicated legal issues and his professional, courteous demeanor.
Accomplishments
John is currently a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Jacksonville Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid Board of Directors. Jacksonville Legal Aid helps provide free legal services for low-income clients in Jacksonville and the surrounding area, bringing much-needed legal assistance to one of the state’s most vulnerable populations.
John also holds admission to the Florida and Georgia state bars, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Federal and Eleventh Circuits, allowing him to practice in just about every corner of the Sunshine State regardless of whether the matter at hand involves issues of state or federal law.
