The Florida Bar

The firm's service to The Florida Bar dates back to founder George C. Bedell’s leadership as President of the Florida State Bar Association in 1912.  More recently the firm’s current senior partner, John DeVault, served as President of The Florida Bar in 1995-96 and was instrumental in creating the Bar’s Center for Professionalism.  Hank Coxe is currently President-Elect and will become President of The Florida Bar in June 2006.

Charles Pillans has served as Chair of the Florida Board of Bar Examiners; Chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the District Court of Appeal, First District; and Chair of the Ethics Committee of The Florida Bar.  Hank Coxe is a past member of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the District Court of Appeal, First District; and past Chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Fourth Circuit.  He has served as one of the two members from this Circuit on the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar since 1995.   Courtney Grimm is currently serving on the Board of Governors of the Jacksonville Bar Association.  The other lawyers in the firm serve or have served on various committees within The Florida Bar.
